A
two-day conference held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel brought together speakers
from all over the world to give witness to the plight of Jews in Italy and Italian
occupied territories during the Holocaust. Leaders of NIAF as well as Claudio
Martelli of the Italian government acknowledged survivors and local humanitarians.
Two luncheons were held, the first had special guest star Anna Maria Alberghetti.
The second luncheon honored Father Victor Salandini with the Giorgio Perlasca
Humanitarian Award for his work with migrant workers in California. Trees were
planted in Israel in their honor. One evening was highlighted by a reception
hosted by the Italian Consul General of Italy.
