Symposium "The Italian Jewish Experience"

Jewish life in Italy was viewed from a historical and social perspective. This was a full day conference beginning at 8:30 A.M. and ending at 9:00 P.M., with a format that included 33 speakers organized in panel presentations for the entire day. The topics included historical perspective of the Italian Jewish Experience; Focus on Communities North and Central Italy, Sicily During the Fascist Era; The Holocaust; Jewish Experience through Literary Perspectives; and Jews and Italian Americans. Many of the speakers displayed their books and held book signings at an extensive book exhibit. The day ended with a viewing of the film "The Truce." There was an awards luncheon to complement the event.
