Over
45 journalists of the Jewish and Italian American Press were invited
to an introduction of the newly funded project "The Holocaust in
Southern Europe" presented by NIAF Education Director and NEH Project
Director Dr. Maria Lombardo. The Ambassador of Italy and the President
of the American Jewish Committee provided an overview of the importance
of this program to the Italian and Jewish communities. Reporters prepared
information relating to survivors, rescuers and the locations in Italy
of internment camps.
